.TRUTH TLD Charter
1. Purpose
The .truth TLD provides a namespace for content and services dedicated to factual information, verified claims, transparent reporting, and evidence-based discourse. .truth domains are for individuals, organizations, and communities committed to publishing accurate, verifiable, and well-sourced content.
Examples of permitted uses:
- Fact-checking websites and services
- Research publications and data repositories
- Investigative journalism
- Transparency reports and public accountability platforms
- Educational content emphasizing factual accuracy
- Open-source data and peer-reviewed information
2. Prohibited Content
The following content is not permitted on .truth domains:
- Knowingly false or deliberately misleading information presented as fact
- Malware, phishing, or content that compromises the security of others
- Trademark-infringing content where the registrant has no legitimate claim
- Copyright-infringing content in violation of applicable law
- Spam, bulk unsolicited messages, or domains used primarily for SEO manipulation
- Content that facilitates or promotes illegal activity
- Hate speech, harassment, or threats of violence targeting individuals or groups
- Child exploitation material or content facilitating such activity
3. Domain Registration
- Domain registrations are provided free of charge
- Registration is open to any individual or organization
- Registrants must provide accurate contact information
- Domains are subject to review and may be revoked for charter violations
4. Dispute Resolution
- Complaints regarding charter violations should be sent to abuse@opennic.truth
- The TLD administration team will review complaints and take appropriate action
- Decisions may be appealed by contacting hostmaster@opennic.truth
5. Amendments
- Amendments may be proposed by the TLD administration team
- Proposed amendments will be published at www.opennic.truth for a public comment period of at least 14 days
- After the comment period, amendments may be adopted by the administration team
- In the absence of specific amendment procedures, changes follow current OpenNIC voting policies
